FREE Indianapolis genealogy conference, Sept. 17, 2011.

2nd Annual Family History Workshop

This is an excellent opportunity to receive instruction, assistance and tutoring in completing your family history.

The website contains information related to an Arts Competition with categories in Art, Music, Essay and Photography; all focused on the theme of Family.

Additional Information:

Doors of the conference will open at 7:30 a.m.

Walk-in registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. and close at 8:45 a.m. on the day of the conference. Also, please be aware that many classes fill up early, so please plan to arrive accordingly.

The opening meeting will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. in the chapel. Prelude music begins at 8:50 a.m. and is provided by the Stake Youth Choir.

FREE Indianapolis genealogy conference, Sept. 18, 2010.

This year's workshop is being sponsored only by the Indianapolis Stake and will be held September 18, 2010. Online registration is encouraged and will close September 4th. There is also an arts competition, which will accept entries through August 18th.

Feb 7, 2010. At stake conference today, Stake President Paul Sinclair challenged the Indianapolis North Stake to index 1,000,000 names at indexing.FamilySearch.org.

4th Annual FREE Central Indiana Family History (Genealogy) Conference.

The 4th Annual Central Indiana Family History Conference will be held on Saturday, the 20th of September, 2008, from 9:00 to 4:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), 900 East Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis. There will be 28 classes offered. Classes are free and open to the public.

This conference is sponsored by several of the local stakes of the LDS church. (A "stake" is a group of congregations, like a diocese.)

If you want a box lunch you can choose that option. There will be a charge for the lunch. I don't have the cost for that as yet. There are many restaurants close by, if you would rather go out for lunch.

A printed syllabus can be purchased for $7.00, or on CD for $2.00.

30 Workshops, for Novices to Experienced Genealogists, plus displays. Workshops start at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm.

Census and Land Records.

Digital Organizing.

Inolving Children.

Family Reunions.

FREE to attend. But please pre-register so workshops can be assigned to available rooms based on projected attendance.

Please pre-register if you want to buy a printed copy of the syllabus of all workshops. $6 for printed copies, or $1 for CD.

Box lunches (sandwich, chips, cookie and bottled water) will be available for $4, but only for those who reserve a lunch when they pre-register, or register on-site by 10:00am.

You may also download a registration form and mail it in.

We have had standing-room ownly crowds in the past, so please car-pool if you can.
